The hills look quite beautiful from up here

2023
for eight accordions
performed by students and staff in the Royal Conservatoire Accordion department

This work for eight accordions is an exploration into the liminal space between electronic and acoustic sound. I am fascinated with
the electronic prospects sonically afforded by the accordion and have created a unique space where this idea can be explored to an
extreme. Musically, The hills look quite beautiful from up here shares a microscopic view of the tonal and timbral foundations of this
phenomenal instrument; gaining depth and insight before moving away to explore a different, more distant context.
